Layers, layers, layers

Let’s start by saying that 2023 will be about extremes – very long and short haircuts. Also, most of the trends from 2022 will continue and peak in 2023. The same applies to layers. They will definitely continue throughout this year and give you various options for a hairstyle. Is it going to be a wolf, butterfly, or an octopus cut – it’s entirely up to you. 

Regardless of the length of your hair, layers can have a wonderful effect on it. And best of all –  they look gorgeous on both straight and curly hair! Also, you can choose between long and short layers. For thick hair, I suggest sticking to choppy.

Long hair, don’t care

If long hair is your thing, but you don’t like layers, don’t worry. Another trend is slowly setting its foot in the showbiz scene, and therefore, in the whole hairstyling world. I’m talking about long, evenly-cut hair. You know, the kind of hair even Beyonce loves to rock.

Volume Up

This trend also started in 2022 and it became essential to have a good blowout for your hair. It is especially popular among girls with pretty long hair. Not to mention, it’s usually combined with bouncy curls and an overall glam look. More often than not, curtain bangs and layers can definitely help with volume. Sounds good so far? I couldn’t agree more because who doesn’t want to be glamorous?!

Many are struggling with the lack of volume, but, luckily there are ways to fix that. If your hair falls flat quickly, you can try adding some mousse to style it and maintain its volume. 

The Bob Comeback

The bob has never left us, one can say. Yes, I confirm it. It’s a timeless haircut and this year’s predictions say there will be the “original bob” comeback. You know it: jaw length cut, slightly shorter in the back and slightly longer just around your face. And honestly, I can’t wait to see everyone rock it again.

Of course, there are a bunch of other options. You can combine bob with layers, and different types of bangs. It’s a style that is always chic, wouldn’t you agree?

Ready for the Bixie?

I’ve mentioned earlier that 2023 is all about either very long or very short hairstyles. Well, Bixie, a hybrid of bob and pixie hairstyles, is a perfect representative of trendy short hair choices. 

You might think this style is only for the bold ones because of its sharp cuts and strong shapes. However, if you’re not happy with it, it will easily grow and you can shape it into a bob or something similar. Who is my celebrity inspiration here? Of course, the breathtaking Bella Hadid. In November 2022 she enchanted everyone with her bixie hair, making it obvious that there is a trend on the way.

Bangs!

If you are still indecisive about this style, no worries. Bangs haven’t left the building but… Besides the 2022 popular curtain bangs, there will be far more trendy options, which is great news. Just ask Camila Cabello who has one of the best celebrity hairstyles and bangs are her signature. She usually goes for the aforementioned curtain bang, but she recently showed us how to wear the wispy version too.

It is yet another bold haircut. Don’t know what I’m talking about? It’s a combination of short and long layers that tend to contrast a lot. Another point for this hairstyle is low maintenance. It’s one of these typical “wash-and-go” styles. 

Other 70’s hairstyles I would just like to mention are:

• Shag haircut with choppy ends
• Wedge feature with chopped bangs
• Middle part – on the rise.
